Love me as I stand

Remember me,
as I stand today.
Do not let this contemporary countenance
fade into yesterday's oblivion box.
For thought the face may change,
the years age,
and at soft skin the world rage
the way it looks at you,
with loving eyes gaze
will remain.
Long after the spark has gone.

See me,
forever as nineteen,
or at sixteen if you wish.
before gravity has folded memories
away in wrinkled skin.

Think of me,
with the dreams I held at ten
the hopes, and the future i had reserved
at the time we both first met.

Hold me,
as if the world has never seen me,
fresh born, not knowing of the evils
the world waits to bestow in naive eyes.

Love me,
forever as today.
at the point this ink on paper meets,
words eternal lay unchanged.
