Is it written in the sky?
the way all things will be?
spelt out in the wind
and played out in the sun.
Scribed into the rocks
and pressed into the dirt
as certain as yesterday
stands to us today.
Do the things we do
and the words we say
really make the difference anyway?
or are we but the fools
acting out eternity's melancholic play
forced, and bound, to act our parts this way.
