Dixie

Some people call it foolish,
writing a poem to you
but they can never understand
exactly what you do.

You entered my life when i was down
and took away my frown.
And though we've had our ups and downs
I knew you were around.

and then just one year later
when things turned really bad
you made my life much easier
helped stop me feeling sad.

You took me all the places
that i needed to be
gave me back my freedom
created independancy.

And though you'll never understand
the message that's for you
if people knew the reasons why,
they'd love you like i do.
